Composition of the Commission
In accordance with the Constitution and the Delta State Judicial Service Commission Law, the Commission is composed of:
The Delta State Judicial Service Commission is structured in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), and relevant state laws. The Commission is composed of key judicial and administrative officers who collectively ensure the effective management, discipline, and welfare of judicial personnel.
The Composition of the Commission consists of the following members:
- The Chief Judge of Delta State – Chairman of the Commission
- The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice – Member
- The President of the Customary Court of Appeal – Member
- Two Legal Practitioners of not less than ten (10) years post-call experience – Members
- Two Non-Legal Members of proven integrity appointed by the Governor – Members
- The Secretary to the Commission – Administrative Head
The Commission operates through its Secretariat, which handles administrative, legal, and operational functions. This structure ensures a balance of judicial authority, professional expertise, and public representation, thereby strengthening transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the judicial system of Delta State.
